Cordless grinders are used form metal grinding and cutting operations. They are less powerful than corded grinders. They are best used for light work, or tasks where mobility is an asset.

The market for cordless grinders is still immature. Unless your require a particularly powerful grinder, it is best to pick a model with a good battery system. Much of the ginder's value comes from other tools that share its battery. Prices will come down over time.
